$6 Million Renovation Project

EXTERIOR PERSPECTIVE.jpg

Historically, Access Housing has provided transitional (short-term) housing to veterans in the DMV area experiencing homelessness.

Now, we want to offer secure permanent housing!

We selected two of our buildings for renovations that will transform them from transitional housing to permanent homes for our veterans.

Currently, these buildings have single-occupancy rooms with shared kitchens and bathrooms. The renovations will reconfigure each unit into a fully-equipped apartment with a private kitchen and bathroom, giving each resident what they need to live there long-term.

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs awarded us $1.5 million for this project, alongside $250,000 from the Home Depot Foundation. While we are working closely with government leaders in the District of Columbia to obtain more funding, we need your help!

We expect the total cost of renovations to be $6 million. Your gift could help us house more veterans and create permanent housing options for them in DC.

The virtual renderings above illustrate the goals of the renovations.
